Our Response to COVID-19

Many of you have asked if we are open? Here’s our response:

Personal service businesses have not been asked to close operations by the Government. However, we have ceased offering services such as massages, facials, laser, physiotherapy and reflexology to adhere to the physical distancing recommendations. We are offering ideal Protein Coaching (by appointment) only at this time. In addition, our retail section of the store is open and we hardly have more than 1-2 customers in this area.

Therefore, if you need skin care, supplements, essential oils or even Ideal Protein foods, we are open for business.

At Shanti Wellness Centre we hold ourselves accountable to a high standard of communication to our customers, and we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely.  Therefore, we would like to take the opportunity to update you on the safety measures that we have implemented.  Your health and wellbeing, and that of our employees is our main priority.  We are taking the following precautions to ensure we stay safe, while continuing to serve our customers:

  1. If you have returned to Canada from another country on or after March 12, please stay home and avoid fitness classes plus book any appointment after 14 days.
  2. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, difficulty breathing), please stay home, avoid fitness classes and book your appointment after your symptoms have dissipated.
  3. If you have been in close contact with a confirmed case, please self-isolate and book your appointment after 14 days.

We have also implemented high sanitization standards in our centre, with increased sanitation of high contact areas.

What precautions are you taking?

We are asking our front staff to keep 6 feet away from the customer when the customer is paying at the front counter.

I’m on your Ideal Protein Protocol. If I have to self-isolate, can I continue the program and how do I purchase the Ideal Protein Food?

If you need to self-isolate and are symptom free, you can continue with the program by video conferencing and you’ll be able to place orders by email or phone. We will accept payment via e-transfers or over the phone by credit card. The food will be dropped off in the evenings to your address. If you are symptomatic with respiratory signs, we ask that you take a break from the program until you are well and self-isolate for 10 days after symptoms start (Recommended by Medical Officer of Health). You can resume the program after your symptoms have subsided and you’ve self-isolated for 10 days.

If we go into Lockdown or only essential services are allowed to stay open, will you be open and how can I still follow the Ideal Protein program?

Because this situation is so fluid and evolving daily, we urge you to stock up on Ideal Protein food, animal protein and frozen vegetables now. Stock up for at least 3 weeks (you’ve worked hard on this program) and we will take the coaching online. If you purchase essential oils,  Eminence skin care and supplements from us, please get some now as well.

I’ve purchased laser hair removal packages. When will you start offering those services again?

Just like other businesses, we are taking safety measures to flatten the epidemic curve. Physical distancing can be overcome with the use of masks. We have run out of our supply of masks. Once we receive our supply of masks and we have an indication that it is safe (and practical) to offer these services, we will resume laser services.

Will you offer online shopping and online fitness classes?

At this time we are unsure. We do have chair massagers and feet massagers that make a great temporary replacement for massages! You can get one now! For fitness classes, there’s many companies offering free classes now. The Adidas Runtastic App is offering over 260 free workouts by giving you their premium membership for free for 3 months.
